A Little About Me .......

I was born in a small country town in South Gippsland. In my teenage years I moved to the Dandenong area, South East of Melbourne. Later I chose to move to Macclesfield in the beautiful Yarra Ranges, Victoria, for 22 years,to raise our two sons. I currently live in Foster, South Gippsland with my husband.

My artistic inspiration comes from the Masters and many Australian artists such as Arthur Boyd, Arthur Streeton, Tom Roberts and my ex tutor, Kevin Boucher. I also get inspiration from the American Artist, Erin Hanson. I get much inspiration from being in nature, be it the bush or the ocean.  I paint in oils and acrylics, however, I am an autodidact in watercolours. I am an emerging Australian artist  and my goal is to be working in my studio each day and to continue to sell my art regularly. I have immersed myself into the fantastic art scene of the beautiful South Gippsland and continue to build my business while striving for successful outcomes.

I find myself drawn to expressing my creativity each and every day. I love the idea of creating something out of nothing - just a bit of paint and canvas. It amazes me how a painting evolves into something that can stimulate more ideas, with then in turn, stimulates more.

I have a love of watercolour as I find it an easy medium to set up and clean up albeit a frustrating medium to get used to.  My favourite medium though, is oils.  I love the creamy luscious rich textures which allow for movement, blending and the ability to achieve super rich, deep colours.  I usually paint traditional style but I do paint abstracts too which allows me the freedom of just simply slapping on the paint.

I am lucky enough to have a number of art collectors that feature my art on their walls within Australia and the USA.

I enter various exhibitions and shows and have received small art prizes and awards. 

I regularly exhibit in worldwide online exhibitions as well. I also exhibit my work throughout the world via online galleries. My studio also doubles as a small gallery. 

Painting takes me away from all the problems of the world and places me in a meditative state which gives me respite and rejuvenates my soul. I love to paint and I find myself drawn into a meditative state. I find painting is a great way to wile the time away as the minutes turn to hours in what seems like only minutes have passed.  On the floor, I am more at ease.  I feel nearer, more part of the painting, since this way I can way I can walk around it, work from the four sides and literally be in the painting. I hope you too can feel this from my colourful, bright paintings and I hope each transports you to a memory or a place of peace. 

I also enjoy gardening with native flora in our bush setting, bush walking and travelling around in our caravan.
